Human Genome Project: The Medical Sequencing of DNA of the Hollywood Stars?

Human Genome Project: The Medical Sequencing of DNA of the Hollywood Stars?
by: Rizhel Ann Supremo
The Human Genome Project has remained to be a confounding medical controversy among different scientists. Medical sequencing of the DNA of public figures has been performed just recently with extensive publication. Prominent and powerful figures such as five time, Oscar nominated actress and Nobel Peace Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu had theirs done. Sometimes these DNA sequencing are performed for a company’s publicity interests.
Current news is surfacing frequently asked questions such as “Why not perform double helix sequencing on British heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne? I mean what’s with his DNA that keeps him alive from decades of untamed living?” Let me stressed that these are unique genome sequences that people are prolifically making public.
Let’s go back to the foremost objective of the Human Genome Project which is determining DNA sequences for the sole purpose of advancement in health and medicine. Siting a viewpoint from Stanford University; “The Human Genome Diversity Project is an international project that seeks to understand the diversity and unity of the entire human species”. Each human being is indeed very unique with one’s own distinctive DNA.
Before associating the human genome project to vanity and publicity in Hollywood, let us contemplate on the real purpose of the human genome projects. These current developments are also cited in the Cancer Genome Project on identifying genes critical to the development of human cancer. “Our DNA is the blueprint of life” hence its publicity should only be used for the good welfare of mankind.

Cafe Kiss

Cafe Kiss
by: Rizhel Ann Supremo

Through the cold rainy days
You were my warm coat in such ways
You were my hot-served coffee
Paired with toasted bread and toffee
All those years we spent
Were cherished and heaven sent
We shared a thousand cups
Even through the down and ups
Here we are again together today
Still in the same old cafe
Sharing the same coffee table
Porcelain cup with the same label
I didn't notice holding your cup
And sipped a little and got up
I went outside to breathe a little
Goodbyes really made my heart so brittle
You looked at the cup I left
With misery and sorrow, you fret
But little did you know I left a gift
In that cup I left a kiss never to drift
I left to give you some space
To find yourself out of the maze
But we'll be meeting soon after the mists
Til we meet again, please treasure my cafe kiss ...

SLEEP NOW MY BELOVED

SLEEP NOW MY BELOVED
By: moon_goddess628
Rizhel Ann Supremo

That night, his face seemed near but far
I felt his cold decadent voice, whispering
surrendering to his warm embraces
I held him close to my heart
as i begged..."comfort this lonely stranded soul in this unforgiving fallen world"...
He looked through me...
as a river of tears fell from my eyes
Never have I thought,the face of Death;
so young,ethereal and enigmatic
a cold wind swept through my face
I slowly closed my eyes
as my heart beat fast...slow...and stopped...
as he whispered....
"Sleep now my beloved"

This poem, I made last November 23,2007 is a poem of Death
The girl (narrator/poem writer) is at the brink of going to the other world and meeting Death which was portrayed as a man...a lover...

Just sharing one of my poems...hehe
